We are looking for a Developer that will be a part of a development team, responsible for installation, redundancy and storage solution of our customers platform.


- Should have knowledge about how to write, refine and test requirements.

- Have good coding experience and be a team player that at the same time can work independently, from requirements to designing, implementing and testing the solution.

- Heavy emphasis on being comfortable with Linux

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Scania has decided to establish a third industrial hub in China with the capacity to produce some 50 000 vehicles per year. Alongside building a new factory and an expansion of the sales network we will also establish a local R&D organisation in China. Our mission in R&D Industrial Operations Asia is to develop trucks specially adapted for the Chinese market, the biggest commercial vehicle market in the world. This requires many new systems and functions to be developed, tested, and introduced.
A dedicated organisation will carry out the work, which will develop and manage the products over time. The organisation will consist of colleagues from all brands within the TRATON Group together with many new colleagues from China. We are building the organisation simultaneously as we develop the product.
The Team
Within the E/E workstream, we have the responsibility for the electrical system and all adoptions to be made in the ECUs, sensors, actuators, cable harnesses, and all the software in the vehicle and the cloud. We work in an agile, cross-functional setup.
Most of the development of the China-specific systems and functions will be done in China, but the solutions based on the platform solutions are developed by the Scania organisation in Södertälje. Therefore some of the SW development needs to be performed in Sweden and that is where you come in. Your tasks will be to implement functionality in the relevant ECUs meanwhile act as Function Owner for L2+ autonomous driving truck. Regarding domain knowledge for a specific system, you will get good support from the teams in China and Sweden.
Your Profile
The systems can be complex and you need to be able to understand and find the right place in the architecture to do the changes with good people skills, good communication abilities and a problem-solving mindset.
Responsibilities:
• Function Ownership: You’ll be the go-to expert for specific functions within L2+ autonomous driving system. Your responsibilities include defining, developing, and maintaining these functions.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system owner, and HW engineers. Your ability to communicate effectively and bridge technical and business aspects is crucial.
• Requirements Gathering: Understand user needs and translate them into functional requirements. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with overall product goals.
• SW development: Understand software architecture and design principle and be proficient in programming languages (e.g., C, Python, MATLAB and Simulink).
Requirements
University degree in engineering.
Speak and write English fluently.
Good Embedded C programmer.
Comfortable working with Matlab/Simulink.
3 - 5 years relevant working experience.

What to Expect
As a Sr. C++ Software Engineer within the Motion Planning & Control team, you will have the opportunity to apply your technical skills to a variety of system components & modules aiming higher performance of the team’s outcome and thereby of the Autonomous Transport Solutions as a whole. Your code will typically be connected with a variety of other components, therefore it has to be robust and easy to debug and maintain. You will always strive towards applying modern best software practices. You will be developing system tools to tackle current problems and exploring solutions for future functions. You will be contributing with systemizing planning and control features on a product level, and you will test and validate the code to ensure the system- and functional stability of our stack. You will additionally have the opportunity to test the outcome in real vehicles on Scania’s test track for autonomous vehicles.

We also use simulation models for testing, analysis and further development. C++ is the main coding language used in autonomous software development, but we also have both in house and external supplementary tools written in Python or Matlab.

What You will Do
· Write, debug and maintain robust C++ software to various components such as path or trajectory planning, motion control, etc.
· Advocate for best coding practices amongst the group, build tools helping engineers to write better code
· Optimize hardware resources usage
· Systemizing planning and control features on a product level
· Troubleshooting, failure modes analysis, customer report diagnosis
· Testing in vehicles on Scania’s test track for autonomous vehicles

What You will Bring
· Experience programming C/C++ software, including modern C/C++ (C++14/17/20)
· Experience developing planning methods such as search, sampling, path finding, trajectory optimization, motion control on real autonomous agents (robots or vehicles)
· Experience or familiarity with Robotics, Machine Learning & related software concepts?a plus
· Proficient developing software on a Linux host, for embedded Linux targets (cross-compilation, etc.)?a plus
